Yogurt Pear Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe pear, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 2/3 cups  (150 mL)  low-fat yogurt
  • 1/3 cup  (75 mL)  apple cider
  • 1 tbsp  (15 mL)  Toasted Wheat Germ (see below)
  • 1 tsp  (5 mL)  liquid honey

Preparation

Blend together pear, yogurt, cider, wheat germ and honey.

Makes 1 serving.

Toasted Wheat Germ In dry skillet, toast 1/4 cup/60 mL wheat germ over medium heat, shaking pan and stirring often, until fragrant and golden, 4 to 6 minutes; let cool. (Make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 month.)
