Lemonade
The ancient summer refreshment of kings and queens. Liberate yourself from the monotony of frozen juice from concentrate, and squeeze out a batch of the real thing.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL) sugar (or to taste)
- 1-1/2 cups (375 mL) lemon juice (approx. 8 lemons)
- 4 cups (1 L) water
- 1 tsp (5 mL) lemon zest (grated lemon peel)
- 1 tsp (5 mL) finely chopped mint
Preparation
Mix up in a big jug with ice cubes, and lemon slices as a garnish. Lemon zest and mint are optional enhancements of this simple favourite.
