Margarita
The story goes that many years ago a wealthy Dallas socialite named, you guessed it, Margarita, threw a lavish pool party down in Mexico, at which there was a spontaneous cocktail mixing competition. The charming hostess mixed up this icy combo of tequila, Triple Sec, and lemon juice, and the guests loved it. The rest is history.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 oz (45 mL) tequila
- 1/2 oz (15 mL) Triple Sec
- 1 oz (30 mL) fresh-squeezed lemon juice or lime juice
Preparation
Toss the ingredients into a blender with a cup of ice, pour through a strainer, and enjoy.
Traditionally, the margarita is served in a salt-rimmed glass. Rub the rim of the glass with lime and dip it in coarse salt, or table salt. Substitute sugar, if you like. Garnish with a lime slice.
Makes 1 serving.
